Restored over the last few years and launched in January 2015. The boat was stripped down and a small amount of timber was replaced. Painted with International single pack marine paint. Most ropes and pulleys were replaced, as were the windows. I've taken it out 10 times (8 sailing, 2 under motor) and it's a great boat; stable, strong, seaworthy. Unfortunately my kids aren't interested so I am going to go back to my original plan for a small catamaran or sailing dinghy. Here's a list of SOME of its features, but I can give you more info as required:
* New mainsail and #2 jib, used about 8 times
* Spinnaker is an old design but hardly been used. It was recut by a sailmaker during the renovation but not used since launch
* Galvanised tilt trailer with 2 good tyres and a brand new spare. Rims are from a 1970s Holden (I think). Removable trailer lights.
* New trailer "retriever-mate" on rear of trailer
* VHF radio and aerial
* stereo with 2 speakers, am⁄fm, and plug to attach your phone⁄ipod etc
* Mercury 7.5 two stroke outboard (approx 1980s vintage) which was serviced recently at Christies Beach Marine and said to be in good condition. Water pump impeller replaced mid-2015.
* new navigation and cabin lights
* solid mast and boom
* "gin pole" to help you get the mast up
* anchor
* new bilge pump
* new marine battery
* new wiring throughout
* fire extinguisher and stainless bucket
* new fuel tank
* approx. 4 new basic style life jackets
* flare kit (purchased approx. Nov 2014)
* removable mainsheet traveller with winch and cleats for the jib all attached
* virtually all of the ropes and pulleys have been replaced
* two fishing rod holders
* lead ballast forward of the centreplate
* rear boarding ladder
Things that you might need or need to do in the future:
* trailer bearings should really be replaced sometime
* ideally you should have brakes on the trailer but I haven't got around to it. It's not a heavy boat and tows well, but I have only gone short distances
* there is no spinnaker pole but I have the fittings for one, and I have not installed the fittings for the spinnaker but I do have some of them to throw in
* it has 2 very old paddles but these should be replaced
* modify the mainsail reefing system, and other minor modifications to the rigging
* add some buoyancy (I have a whole lot of 3 litre milk bottles that I was planning to use and so you can have these for free!)
I would be willing to consider a “membership” type arrangement where you agree to take me out a couple of times a year, and I will pay your launch fees + a monetary contribution for expenses⁄maintenance. Please call or email for more information and photos, or to arrange a time to inspect. Tyre-kickers are welcome.
Actual build year is unknown but it was professionally built.
